  • These weekend morning volunteers will be given maps and paired up with another volunteer to help artists find their spots and get ready for the event!

    These groups of volunteers will be the caretakers of a specific artist section and you are the friendly face and helping hands for artists! Your role may involve helping artists unload and reminding them to move their vehicles to allow more artists to access Strathearn Drive. Volunteers must be able to lift approximately 20 kg. You'll work directly with the Artist Registration Team Lead.

    This volunteer role is open to all ages (if a volunteer is under 16, a parent/guardian must be present at the festival during the volunteer’s hours). This position is for morning hours only.

  • We want to ensure that artists and attendees enjoy themselves and feel seen, heard, and supported!

    Artist Ambassadors roam the site and communicate with artists, answering questions and resolving problems if they arise. You might help provide directions, pick up food or drinks, or help adjust a table. Your role may also involve supervising one of many interactive art activities to be unveiled at this year's event. You'll be supported by our Artist Ambassador Team Lead, who can help with more complex issues or questions. This role involves walking around, and interacting with our guests to make sure they feel welcome!

    This job is open to all ages (if a volunteer is under the age of 16, a parent/guardian must be present at the festival during volunteer’s hours). Rotating hours for this role run from morning until artist teardown.

  • As an Event Ambassador, you will be the face of the Strathearn Art Walk!

    It’s your role to welcome folks from your assigned location. You will be in the perfect position to point people in the right direction and answer general site questions (you will have a site map and FAQs in hand to support you!) You will also be the eyes and ears of the festival, ensuring that alcoholic beverages stay in the festival and that safety issues are seen and reported. You'll use your radio to alert our paid security team to address any safety issues.

    For this role, you must be 18 years of age or older to fulfil this role and will need to complete the free online ProTect course prior to the event, which is a social responsibility training program. We will have you rotating around the site so this volunteer opportunity is ideal for those looking to enjoy the festival ambiance and get their steps in! Please keep in mind this job has plenty of walking around and interacting with performers, artists, and attendees. Hours for this shift run from morning until close.

  • As a Bike Lock Up Attendant, you'll supervise the bicycle parking area so that they are safe and secure.

    For many, you’ll be the first friendly face they see at the festival! This is a great opportunity to let attendees know about the variety of entertainment, activities and food/beverage options at the festival. Consider yourself an Art Walk promoter and be ready with a map to point out all the great offerings at SAW!

  • On this fun team, you'll keep a fresh stock of craft brews and beverages cool in our ice tubs, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to Art Walk attendees. You'll also be highlighting the assortment of exciting SAW merch for sale!

    You'll take electronic payments through the Square app (no cash handling required), and make sure our customers stay cool and refreshed! You'll be supported by the Beverage Team Leads. Please bring your smartphone to orientation, as we will provide training on the use of the Square app for processing payments.

    For this role, you MUST be 18 years of age, have ProServe certification, and provide electronic proof of ProServe certification prior to Art Walk.

    ProServe is a short online course (click here for more info), but it can take time to receive a certificate, so it should be completed at least 15 days prior to Art Walk. If you obtain ProServe specifically for Art Walk, email your receipt to volunteers@strathearnartwalk.com and we will reimburse you for the cost of the course (approx $26.25).

  • One of our core values at SAW is sustainability, meaning, we want to not only set-up an accessible and enjoyable site but also leave our green space better than we found it!

    In this role, you'll work with the Site Lead to set up tables and chairs, tents, food and beverage areas, the stage, and the rest of the venue. The takedown shift will be on Sunday at 4:30 pm, and will consist of taking down and packing up tables and chairs, tents, food and beverage areas, the stage, and the rest of the venue. You'll work directly with the Site Team Lead to ensure the festival is set up and ready to go for customers!

    For this role, you must be 18 years of age, must be able to lift approximately 20 kg. Hours for this role run from morning until close.

  • In this role, you'll be stationed at the volunteer headquarters to sign in volunteers as they arrive.

    You'll ensure they are outfitted with everything they need such as t-shirts, name tags and any equipment for their jobs. You may also respond to requests for general event info and notify other relevant volunteers to resolve issues that arise. You will work directly with the Volunteer Team Lead. Hours for this role run from morning until artist teardown.

  • Are you a behind-the-scenes music lSuer?

    In this role, you will support the Stage Manager, MCs, performers, and sound technicians, etc., as needed. This may involve setting up chairs in our "green room" area, helping performers load and unload equipment, helping the technicians complete a sound check or just refilling performer's water bottles. This role calls for a calm, friendly, and helpful presence to create a positive experience for visiting performers!

    For thim role, you must be 18 years or older, and must be able to lift approximately 20 kg. Hours for this role run from noon until close.
